New HD connections...

Car  Peddled device
...are different from the ones on my current (and fooked) HD.My current on has female connections and the new one male connections Can l get adapters to enable connection?

HD seems to be SATA (small copper strips 15 and 7 in number with a 4 pin small connector) and the connectors on the PC are large blocks (female).

This is what l am trying to convert. The HD at the back is the new one and the one in the foreground is the knackered one.

Yeah the one at the front is IDE or PATA. The new one is a SATA drive. Hopefully your motherboard will have SATA connections so you can hook up the new drive, but you will need a cable set like the one I posted.

Look for a connector like that red one (will probably be black though).

Pic of my sad mother f**ker board...out of date or not?

The fact the motherboard has "SATA" on it in big letters suggests you didn't look hard enough for the Sata ports. ;)

In fact look to the left of the word "SATA". The ports are both there (Black).

2 x SATA 1.5 Gb/s connectors, support RAID* (RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD) and "Hot Plug" functions
