New headunit killin speedo + ignition light on!

Bought and fitted a new LG 3700R headunit today. Obviously a very simple task but when took the car for a spin to pump some toons I lost the speedo and cruise, mpg readings etc were flashing (not mileage but all other readings on odo display) and the ignition light stayed on. Disconnected the head unit and drove off and the speedo and cruise came back and the flashing stopped on the odo info display. When plugged in again as I drove the speedo fell back to zero. Any ideas? I'm confuzzled! At end of day it's just plug and play surely?!:dapprove:

lg units are crap
cos they dont come with an iso lead all the wires from the clio iso are plugged straight in,the remote lead pin from the lg is sending a signal down the speedpulse killing the speedo,get a standard iso connector pc2-36-6 iirc and then cut the blue cables on it and youll be sorted

hi mate, had a feelin something like that was causing it although not exactly what hence the need for the post! thanks alot for clearing that up. i took the LG back and got a kenny instead and that sorted it. really appreciate your response. as you can imagine i was bricking it for a while there! all back to normal now and the ignition light went out after it was fitted. phew.
