Are Sony the only company who make headunits which have wiring compatible with the original renault stalk?

i got a alpine headunit today and apparantly u can use the renault stalk with it not sure how though.

i had an apline in my RT and Halfords make a lead which enables you to use the stalk on the steering column...it was 80 quid though so i didnt bother
