New HU/changer using existing cable

Is the cable connecting a HU and a CD changer a standard connection?

I mean, if I got a new HU and changer can I use that cable to connect them rather than having to rip everything out to route a cable?

no not a standard connection you will need to re-cable if you get a new one.
