new lcd tv help

well basically ive recently got a 40" Samsung LE40R86WDX. The pic kind of goes into an effect when close of shots of peoples faces for example, its really annoying and ive messed about with menus and stuff and am totally lost...can anyone help?

i think i know the problem....i have like a sky box from 1999 and this tv is a hd ready tv, normal tv is fine when it doesnt bypass the sky box, so i think sky hd or a newer sky box should sort things out.
