New Member, Buying 172 on monday

Hey all

I have put a deposit down for a Clio Cup 172

I collect it on monday, very nice inside and out well looked after too

What upgrades can i do to make it faster? I've not test drove it yet so don't know how much powers its got i know there like 169bhp standard
I've looked at exhausts not sure what ones to get, I don't really have thousands to spend on exhaust like all these other people have

I found a RS tuner aswell is it worth buying that?

You'll have to spend a few £££ to add a bit more power or ££££ to add a lot ie Turbo etc , have a search about the RS Tuner there are lots of thread on them

I'd just make sure it's on decent tyres and enjoy driving for a while tbh

and ill get a downpipe too would that make alot of diffrence? ( Just noticed it was a 182 not 172 :/

That exhaust won't fit your 172 Cup mate as its for a 182 and yours will have the spare wheel well in the boot floor (182's don't)

A decent exhaust will help a rev a bit free-er and sound better , a decat pipe will help further

Depends which way you want to go with it, i'd get a big cup of coffee and look through some of the build threads on here for inspiration/ideas- plenty of Cups in there. Also in the market place and Traders sections- you will have to become a member but well worth it imo!

I'd get the car and enjoy it for a bit before spending money as may have some bits on already that seller has forgot to mention as not many 172s out there on original exhaust i'd have thought
