New Member, researching 182 purchase.

  Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo
Hi All,

Currently drive two cars:

2009 Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo, 4.0L Inline six, 362hp, 533nm torque, stock. (328rwhp)(393 lb/ft)
5.1sec 0-100, 12.8sec 400m on street tyres.
Shes a quick car in a straight line but handling isn't so good as she weighs 1760kgs.

1999 Volvo s40 - SLUG

I have decided to sell the volvo and obtain a hot hatch to use as a daily driver and set up as a semi track (circuit only) car. It's come down to a 182 cup or a Peugeot 206 gti 180.

I'm leaning to the 182 cup as it seems that it will cost less to build one up to the specs I want ( cold air induction, coil over suspension, tune, exhaust, etc).

Any tips would be appreciated.

Regards,
Allan.

206 GTIs are pretty useless apparently, 182 is the way to go.

No. 206gti 180's are very decent with a bit of work. Bin the 17's for 16's, get a short shifter. Very decent cars then, and nicer looking imo.

All the variants of 1*2's will cost a similar amount to track prep.

The only thing I will say is that a 182 cup has a more limited choice when it comes to suspension (unless you are buying serious kit) as they have a different bolt spacing on the hubs.

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like I might be better off saving the dollars and buying a 172. Money saved can go towards modifications.
