New N.Ireland 172

Hi all, previously owned a S14A 200SX but due to buying a house needed something easier on the fuel. My first 2 cars were Clios and always loved the Phase 1 172.

Picked up a Y reg with 89k in Northampton about the start of March but only getting round to introducing myself and sticking a few pics up now.

The car is lowered 40mm on apex springs but the 17" wheels aren't to my liking at all. I have some people telling me they really suit the car but I personally think a set of 16s would be much better. The original F1 cups are currently getting a refurb.

Since buying the car I've fitted a set of Phase 2 tail-lights and colour-coded the rubbing strips and door handles, plus given it a much needed cleaning.

A breakers quite near to me has a 182 at the minute so looking at buying the rear bumper (need so sort out the exhaust holes), the rubbing strips and possibly the steering wheel. The airbag has deployed but am I correct in thinking that the centre section can be easily sourced? I'm also patiently waiting for a cup splitter from a forum member but thats another story! lol

Yeah thats the same car, bought it off Mike, seemed like a decent bloke.

Hopefully collecting the F1 Cups on Saturday so hope to get the tyres back on them and fitted to the car next week. Probably gonna clean up the 17s and sell them. Always had a love for slightly darker wheels on silver cars

Don't think the 182 steering wheel will fit your mk1 172, i'm sure others have tried it before
