New PAS pump on the whine

i fitted a new pas pump the other day and it whines like a supercharger, sound usually disappears once warmed up but you can still hear it sometimes. it's not loud like when you hold full lock.

Is there enough fluid ithe resoviour?

Did you prime it?

priming? i turned it lock to lock with the engine off, then again as soon as i fired her up and continued to do so.

the sound starts off audible, then disappears after about 30 second to a feint sound you sometimes here when going slowly around a roundabout, and usually when i get to my destination i can turn the wheel and there's no sound.

That's ok, I'd personally be speaking to whoever refurbished it for you.

Aftermarket one's aren't right for the 2.0 litre engines.

They look fairly reputable, did you send your old unit to get refurbished then or did you buy a refurbished unit?

it's not overly bothering at the moment, not as much as my one month old pas sensor that leaks!
it's got a 12 month unlimited mileage guarantee so hopefully covered for unhappy eventualities

Sounds like the wining will be the pump caveatting with air in the system.
