New pics (DSLR)

Ive got a canon eos 400d on loan from uni so ive been prety much taking pics all day.Most is done in auto as ive no idea what all the settings do.Any advice on the settings would be apprieciated.

Na i do information systems manegement and as part of the multimedia module we have to use a piece of hardware we havnt used before and write about it.

Its on coilovers lowest on back and at a guess 85 on the front.
