new plate.. 3/4, standard, etc, etc

hai.

little dilemma whilst i'm stuck waiting for coilies to go on and have the cage welded in... damn fred and his audacity going on a holiday!!!

ive not seen another meg with a smaller front plate, now i'm not 100% if i want 3/4 one making or whether you can buy larger but technically smaller than OEM.

my understanding is that as long as it has the code of where it was produced im in the green, but no doubt i'll get some saying oooo its illegal, etc.

just an old pic below with standard plate, if someone could be so kind as to PS it smaller, pretty much so it sits level with the black lip instead of slightly overhanging at the bottom i'd be grateful.

Orrrrrr as alexC did for me (but i lost it :(), smooth the front recess and remove the plate so i can have a sticker number plate or a plate that sits somewhere i can easily take off for shows/track, etc.

also i have a CF trumpet ready to rig into the lower grill and my airfeed on the passenger side, so that'll look great (blatantly no need to tell just thought i would, as u do)

excuse the old pic btw.

I still have the pics on my desktop dude lol,

Personally I'd keep the font the right size, as it's not worth the hassle. Trim the plate down so it still has the legal border around and them cut the recess down to that point aswell so it's a smaller endented recess.

that recess job would be major ballache though, they way u suggest.

i might trim the plate and keep the font the same. hmmm dunno

I used velcro coins from Halfrauds, just whip the plates off for pics/shows etc. They're strong too.

Mine was just cut down to the end of the letters on my twingo mate and I never had any trouble off the police. Same size font and it still had on the bottom of the plate where I got it from :)..could just cut one down and if you don't like it buy a new one?

Do you mean the height of the plate? Legally, there has to be a certain width border (11mm possibly) around the letters, and I think the height of a standard plate might already be the minimum legal height with legal font. But doesn't look like you've got much to shorten it by so unless you run into a copper with a ruler, I wouldn't worry about the legality of it.

A guy in the Halfords plate making dept, told me just to cut mine with a saw to shorten it.... Alternatively, fancy plates will do custom sizes like that, not sure if you get the production code thingymabob though.

Edit. You can wright your own thingymabob on the bottom.
