New Slimline PS3

In my instance, i've owned my 360 since launch, never really wanted a PS3, played friends ones and i liked everything apart from the games, i prefer the games on the 360.

the thing that sells it for me is, bluray, playTV, "OK" web browsing, swappable HDD's and on the previous fatboy version, the chance to install Linux, unfortunately they've got rid of the latter on the slim model.

but tbh for bluray playing and when eventually they release GT5 it would be a nice machine to own.

Where do you work fUbAr? My local Gamestation recommended that I pre-order one, when I asked how many were already on the list I was told 2

Seems pointless placing a pre-order for one and I may wait and see if Gamestation offer any good deals like HMV and shopto etc. I'd rather pay £249 and get something included for free.

The pre-order just secures a console for launch day... you can chose whatever package you want on the day. I dont think there's any need to pre-order one though.

well they wernt around long enough to make it worth while the xbox was still born the 360 wasnt and its doing just fine now but it would boost sales

but who knows if they will do it with the sales boost that natal will bring

360 need a price drop now especially in America where the slim costs the same as an elite but much better value.

Polished mine up last night to go on the bay and have to say I will be really sad to see it go! Am now in two minds!

So is the PS3 slim though and with wifi, free online and blueray it represents much better value. There is no way MS will make an xbox slim,the 'big' version can't dissipate heat let alone constricting it even further. It needs to be made bigger!

Blockbuster are selling the PS3 Slim with Batman for £249.99 next Tuesday.

Gamestation will match this offer so all is good.

PS2 could do it as well mate.

I can't be bothered to change. It matches my TV and I would rather spend the money on a hard drive/ save for games.

Spend millions on developing a slimline! lol...and then they announce the new PSP which is going to be silly money too....way to go sony...

I'm an Xbox fanboi, but defo getting a Slim next week.

Already have a BR player, so will sell that and use the PS instead.

I'll always get cross platform games on Xbox due to mates / online, but means I can now get the exclusives on all consoles.

it seems the slim is slower than the fat ps3 at bluray movie loading and startup but a bit faster at game loading
