NEW SUSPENSION & BRAKES FITTED

  Vectra 1.9 CDTi SRi 150
Having sold my FK Coilovers I have put traditional shocks/springs in the form of the Koni Kit. Like other suspension kits i've had in the past they arrived scratched due to poor packing and an industrial quality paint job, so before fitting I gave them a further 2 coats of Machine Yellow to help keep them looking good. I also had some Renault parts missing so had to buy 2 strut top kits from the stealers....ouch...£££'s. Painted top spring plate with 2 coats of silver Hammerite. Plenty of copper grease used in assembly too.
This was also the ideal time to re-paint my Calipers as they were looking tatty and fit my new Tarox G88 front discs and Green Stuff pads. Also, finally got around to fitting my Braided Lines that I got in the group buy. So this was also the ideal time to change the brake fluid too.....we won't say too much about this as I c**ked it up and need to get more fluid and do it again:( Pics below.....

The notoriously messy rears brake lines....fluid goes all over.....but an easy job...

Rear calipers painted, need to get some rear discs soon......rear springs and shocks fitted prior..

Front suspension fiited and Front calipers painted in situ after removing old discs/pads and a good clean with aerosol cleaner....£3.50 from Boyes

Discs and pads fitted....

Wheels back on.....

Back on the deck and happy with the ride height, quoted at -30mm. Not much different from my coilovers as I had the pretty high as I didn't want arches rubbing.
Just gotta sort my brakes out so I can take her out for a blast and see how it handles.

Did all the work myself on the drive, apart from freeing off the top mounts. I have cocked up the brakes as the pedal has no feel so i'm gonna redo it when I receive my extra brake fluid:(

np mate, commen mistake. also was gonna say brakes will be w**k for a few 100 miles due to disc and pads having to bed into each other so dont expect them to be super first off, took me a good few months till i was happy with mine ( my old setup was exatly the same as yours, g88 disc greestuff pads )

I'll tread carefully then as i'm usually a late braker. Bit pissed off I messed the fluid change up, but you live and learn I suppose. I only had 1 litre of Castrol Response Super Dot 4, probably wasn't enough. Oredered some off Ebay and just waiting for it to be delivered and then i'll have another go.

Looks good mate, how much were the Koni springs?

Why did you get rid of the coilies?

Full Koni Kit with Adjustable Dampers was £385 delivered from Larkspeed. The main reason was they were to firm for the roads I drive on, which are absolutly s**t where I live, sooooo bumpy. I was gonna go back to standard but saw these at the same sort of money as original stuff. I did get to take my car round Donny on the coilovers and it was fantastic. If all roads were that smooth in my area then FK's would rule as the ride was so precise with great feedback and control. As I have a wife and little boy I have compromised on a supple ride which shouldn't be too much slower.
