New to ClioSport advice needed

  Renault Clio Sport 197
Hello There,
I have recently been given a ClioSport 197 2008.
Having fallen for them in 2007 (Top Gear UK review by Jeremy) I am loving it but really having some trouble getting to grips with a six speed shift.
I have read lots on how to manage it ..things like only 1st up to 6mph and rev's up to 3500 from 2nd -3rd but I reckon I am not doing it right and after 2 weeks am still struggling I think and worried that my poor execution might damage my new car.
Any advice. I know it might seem laughable to seasoned Clio drivers but it's my first after 5 years of driving a 5 speed Hyundai Excel Sport.

Regards
:S

Welcome mate. I dont understand what the issue with gear change is?

Drive it like any other once shes warm (this is very important, Renault Sport Engines are dog rough from cold)

Definetly noticed she does not like a cold start at all.
But seems to go well once warmed up.
I am located in Sydney Australia.
I am guessing 6th gear is much like 5th in a five speed.
But getting through 1 thru 3rd is not pleasing me. I often think I am not giving enough rev's.

  Was a 197
As soon as its warmed, just let the techo fly all the way up until the shift light comes on.

G'Day.

Out of interest, how many miles does it have on? Or is it totally brand new? As this will influence what I've said next. If it's quite broken in then +1, rev it till the shift light (7-7.5k rpm), if you don't feel some kick then... well... it's a fubar'd 197!

If it's brand new (under 6k otc) be gentle with her.
