Mad styling not just a silly arch extender but some really nice bulges
3.5 v6 from nissan
280bhp-300bhp
kerb weight kept under 1500kg (seen as old v6 was around 1450/80kg and based on the old MKII 1110 172, the new one will be based on the MKIII 1210kg platform + v6 + bodykits may tip the scales too much for good PWR to weight.
also like them to sort the handling out so its possible to drift and control the back end better.
any other suggestions ?
Renault already have a 3.5 Ltr V6 as used in the Euro megane Series....so wouldn't be hard to chuck one in a new V6 and would give minimum 300BHP.
How often are you going to drift to work or to the shops...hopefully nowhere near me...
Jeremy has said there won't be a new V6....somehow I think there will. Renault and all the media press said there wouldn't be a Phase 2 V6 and there was. It may not be a V6, but certainly a race bred Renault Sport clio of some description.
The 197 is just to tide us over but as we all know, Peugeot and the rivals continue to push the boat out with power.
I'm actually surprised renault only made the new clio a 197. We've had the Civic Type R for donkeys now with 197, although it seems they aren't changing the new Type R's output either.
Reason....anything more requires 4 wheel drive, limited slip diffs etc and also renault obviously don't want to take the market away from their Megane 225 which in my opinion should go up to at least 250 BHP now.
Renault need to homologate something to race! And I feel something more than the 197 is in store. The Mk3 is just out and they released the RS197 immediatley. They can't keep that the range topper for 8 years now can they! How else can they race without homologation...
Sop when Renault UK says....no new V6....that isn't the entire truth!
