New valve guides with new valves?

Looking at getting 1 piece valves for my new engine, but will i need to replace the valve guides when fitting the new valves? the engine there going in is a PH1 motor that has covered 64k. Valve seats will be getting recut as part of the porting job.

These engines have colisibro guides as standard mate, so any replacement will add another £200 ish on to your price. If the originals have only done 64k I'm not sure I'd bother tbh. Unless the original valves have been bent at some point in it's life of course, as the guide will have sustained some damage.
This is all IMO though.

Its a fully running motor so im guessing they will be fine, may aswell speak to the place thats going to do the head i suppose.

check them for wear. If the guides need replacing, you have to re-cut the valve seats to get them aligned centrally. If you don't you risk side loading the valve, and that's when they break heads off

Definitely dont want that happening, my last engine died from valve failure. Such a s**t design, 2 piece valves wtf!?!?

Quite a lot of engines even industrial ones use friction welded valves. I don't think it's really something you have to worry about on these, s**t happens though.

Well at £400 a set for 1 piece jobbies im just going to get them. Its the price of a replacement second hand engine so in the long run should pay off, just my luck it will happen again otherwise.

I was looking up all i can find about changing valves; this thread came closest to my situation. Is it normal to change just the exhaust-valves when one of these has been hit/bent ? (just 8?) And do these definately absolutely have to be ordered from Renault ?

I got a set of supertech valves direct from the US for just over £200 , when I sent my head off to CNC heads they said the guides were worn and changed them , cost me about £200

if you have only hit and bent one you can change just the one , would be very surprised if it has only bent one , you can fit any make valves in , don't think many standard copies will be as good as an original , and the original ones won't be as good as supertech ones

Im surprised the normal people havent been along to say Supertech valves are still 2 piece but welded higher up. I went for Sinus valves as they are true 1 piece forged valved, they are beautiful lol. Come in at the same sort of price as supertechs aswell.

I do. Supertechs are fine, still a decent upgrade, but I'll use these as they're genuinely 1 piece, and not just a lie on their website

How much for a set and how quick can you get them?

I noticed the Sinus valves have a really thin valve seat face, what benefits does this have out of interested? I thought it would be bad because less heat can be transfered out the valve, but i guess it must have its benefits?

I'm pretty sure sinus are the ones catcams recommend and supply. Didn't realise they are a true one piece valve though so that's good to know
