Newbie coming from 221whp Cooper S

Hi my names Matt from Welling Kent, ive joined up to look up some info on Clio 172/182. They seem to be going so cheap now and im after a "cheaper" fun car atm.

As the title says my last fast car was a 221whp (260ish bhp in old money) supercharged mini cooper s which had many engine/suspension mods and was a very impressive car on track. Now im driving a 2003 180 Quattro TT which ill be selling to free up some cash.


ill have a nose around and hope to spend about £2-3k on a 172/182.

I'd suggest for your budget go for a mint low mileage 172 cup but look for service history and make sure all the belts are done/dephaser pulley also if you go for one over 70k

They are all great fun cars and for bang for buck there the best hatch

I can imagine it sounded lovely, ive got a mini cooper 1.6 05 plate its quite a fun car, i suggested to the mrs we get an S in the near future... Obv the charged one

I loved my R53 JCW, but I actually prefer driving my 182 Cup which cost half of what I sold my S for.

You won't be disappointed in the driving experience, just don't expect the cabin environment to be in the same league as either the Mini or the Audi.
