Newbie Insurance Question :)

Hi just a quick question on insurance . I am picking my brand new Clio 1.6 16v up soon and was wondering: How am I supposed to get insurance 4 a car when I dont know the Reg No?

If they (RegVardy) register it for me, wont it then be pre-registered?

*Sorry this will be my first car..

You should get a letter before you get the car telling you what your number plate is going to be. this is what happened when i bought my new car. Although i got free insurance with mine.

But i would imagine its the same with most new cars, and i dont think that classes it as pre reg as it is being registered in your name by the company. pre reg is where its registered in some one elses/companies name before you get it.

shouldnt you get confirmation of the reg no wen the dealer registers it for you. You can then get insured on this and no, this wont mean its pre-reg iirc?? But maybe wrong about this as not 100% sure myself mate.

Cheers Guys . I am a little pi***d**f because since I put a deposit down on Aug 15th 3/4 weeks ago they have not even rang me to tell me when I will get it my car ....

Keep ringing them up there usless some dealers.

And youve picked one of the worst to buy from unfortunatly.

Just rang RegVardy up this morning to c what date I can pick my car up . They said that they have been trying to contact me (have they f**k ), & the delivery date is 28th October (I ordered it Aug 15th, 10 week wait) .

As reguards insurance they told me I will get a letter 1/2 weeks be4 I pick my car up with the Reg No on. I have to then get insurance (cover note) & once I go to pick my car up they will register it under my name...
