Newbie - question re: 182

  Nimbus Grey 197
Hey guys,

Im in the market for a 182 and am close to purchasing, however, i thought this would be the best place to ask a question before i take the plunge.

I know they are a great little car and have had a little drive in one before but nothing too great.

My questions which i hope someone can help me with are:

What is petrol consumption like? (the car will only be a weekend car as i use the train to commute)

Is there anything i need to look out for when buying? (cambelt etc etc)

Servicing, repair costs etc are these expensive and have many people had any specific problems with them?

Just let me know guys, i really want this car but need to know if im going to get a good deal.

The car in question is an '04 182, 27k miles, light racing blue with white racing stripes. Asking price £8788 from a dealer!!

Thanks and hi :race:

Woza.

round town mpg is about 33mpg if your careful. On motor way its about 40mpg.

Makesure she has a full service history with all the service stamps. Check uneven tyre wear and listen for any alarming rattles.

Check the gear box for any leackage as thats quite common. Make sure all the electrics work ie: air con etc etc.

Make sure you get a warenty so you have hasstle free motoring!

Enjoy and good luck with he purchase.

Not worth over £8k IMO
How much warrenty is left?
Hope it's not the CUP version? i.e. has it got cloth seats or Climate Control.

Great wee cars! Best bought from new and treated properly. Too many numpties dont have a clue, so subsequent owners bear the grief.

I seem to get about 26 mpg around town and 30 on the motorway, so no its not just you.

I do mainly town with the occassional blast up the motorway and the countryside and get around 27 mpg.

Check that the headlight washers aren't leaking

Otherwise no major issues in the six months I've had the car.
