newbie some more info please

hi all im new. im looking for a new car as i currently have a 306 cabriolet.

and ive been looking at the clio 172's just a few questions

1.how reliable are they?? as i know 2 friends that have clios and have had problems with them with in the first 5000 miles.

2.petrol costs the cab costs me 45 quid to fill and i get around 300 miles??

3.do they all have cruise control??

4.main problems to look for??

5.why is the 182 so much more expencive??

Only very rarely do majour things go wrong.

Petrol will be about the same, obv depending how you drive it.

172's from a certain year have cruise control - someone confirm?

Make sure if its 5yrs or 70k miles that its had it cambelt and auxbelt changed.

A good example 172 can be nearly as much as a poor example 182.

petrol i proberly spend about the same as you do now.

172 from 03 plate have it as standard iirc but some have it on 51/02 plates

As said a dog of a 182 needing a cambelt can be had for a price of a mint 172 (mines for sale)

not ready to be buying at the moment got a few little things to sort with the cab first one of the roof pipes is split the heater doesnt work and the back box need rewelding as it rattles a little. gonna get these sorted and px it i think wrong time of year to sell a cab.

1) Reliable as much as how good a car you get and the care you take of it

2) About the same there not bad on fuel depends how you drive

3) later 172 on 53ish plate onwards have cruise all 182 have it

4) Common Clio problems
