NewEST ipod touch and stereo

I am just trying to help out a friend with their stereo. I have a full ipod control one which works perfectly with my ipod touch but she has the newer one which doesn't work with my speakers in my house or the old ones she has, or my charger.

So just wondered if anyone has tried the new ipod touh with any ipod car stereos and had any luck?
Im prob gunna try hers in my car this weekend but just thought id ask here anyway

A lot of people have been having problems i beleive with new gen i pods its something to do with the software being upgraded, thats all i know, sorry

my iphone 3g seems to work fine which is abit more up to date than the ipod touch o havent had any problems with mine hope you get it sorted tho mate

hi mate.. have this problem with mine atm!
fooking piss take seeing as i bought the cd player specificly to controle my ipod.
the ipod touch ( newer and older version ) have different firmware to what is needed... apparently there is a update coming in a few months to fix it. but untill .... no good
