Yeh the video i'm not too fussed over. There is a big question mark over how legitimate it is for the BSB/BTCC togs to have video capabilities without having bunged MSV or BTCC a load of cash. I think the same applies with the FA and Rugby, stupid really. I heard Canon were going to change the firmwear to disable the video on the 1d MKIV.
I would like to give video a go though, some of Vincent Laforet's videos have wetted my appetite.
I'm not sure about the video thing. I think I'd find it cheating a bit. I like the challenge of trying to get a good shot, not videoing the whole thing and then picking out a few frames.
The 5D video has blown me away. I thought it was just a gimmick until I took some clips of the kids and it is amazing how sharp, colourful and just plain awesome it is. The files are pretty heavy to work with, but that just gives a decent excuse to upgrade the PC.
I can imagine they will be very useful in the field.
mate I sit in Salisbury night after night bored out of my head, plenty of time to play!!!
Got an excellent job on tomorrow, i am working for Airsoft Magazine at a disused airfield - we are using an old boiler room for some posed shots.
I am taking 4 flashguns along and using the D3s, will post up images on here asap and let you know how the D3s handles.
Out of the box it feels strange to be able to use 12,800 iso as ......a true iso even before going into the realms of the Hi settings!!!
I can shoot an interior of a room at 12,800 get 1/60th on f16............hand held "mind boggling"
lol sounds awesome! I haven't had any regrets yet on not getting the D3s, hopefully that will stay the same!
Well whenever you fancy doing a shoot or anything like that let me know, I'm out of the UK quite a lot late feb/march, but I'd definitely be up for something at some point.
Here are some images from today that will be published in Airsoft over the next two months.
All done with the D3s, to be frank I can't report too much on the cameras handling ability as it was too bright to push the iso.
I shot most stuff with off camera flash, Paul the owner of the mag was with me and generally giving me direction.
Not being a computer (gaming) buff we were trying to recreate characters from "Modern Warfare"
I am hoping to bring a new style to the mag with my images, which until now have been provided by hand ins from the Airsoft community - and dare I say it...pretty awful.
I think it will take me a few editions to settle down into a rhythm and find what works best for the Mag.
Anyhow, have a look at what we achieved.........(can I just add, what a bunch of geeks "airsofters are!!!!!!" scary lol )
