Nitrogen filled tyres...

  1.4 16v Clio
I'm gonna get mine done soon,my little scooters got nitrogen filled tires though :)

Have you noticed much difference in the ride, handling etc.

when I had 2 new tyres fitted last month at costco they used nitrogen. Can't say I've really noticed much.

1. Nitrogen molecules bigger than oxygen molecules so seeps out more slowly
2. Nitrogen resists heat buildup better than air which contains moisture
3. Nitrogen reduces oxidation that can damage tire from inside out
4. Nitrogen is inert gas so no safety or environmental issues

Not only is air already made up of 75% nitrogen but what do you think is already in the tyre while it sits on the rim before its blown up with pure nitrogen?

  Clio's
how's that? (genuinely interested)
i though one of the benefits was that you didn't get pressure variation as the temps rise/fall

exactly. due to the pressures not changing when the tyres heat up they will remain at the optimum pressure therefore increase handling
