Hello people! My good friend Ryan has been waiting since February for his Focus to arrive and asked me back then if I would look after it and get it protected when it arrived, of course I couldn't say no... it's the "gamechanger" after all!
It wasn't supposed to arrive until next year, full spec everything including new sync3, only thing missing is the sunroof and cup tyres, a few weeks ago they mentioned the car has been completed very early, possible cancellation?
So plan was to get the dealer to prep and protect the interior and remove wrapping from exterior and powerwash... the difference this made as with my friend Adam's Golf R, is night and day, no multidtude of wash marring or RDS, so pleasing to see.
He used it as hard as he could for the first few week until it came to me nice and dirty. We had a drive out on Sunday morning before the detail and well.. it's gamechanging for me!
On to the detail, wash and decontamination, will list everything at the end and just image it all! I had big plans for a documented detail like the good old days... but this favour being squeezed in coincided with a stag do the day before...

So well protected car and not sure if it's just transport iron or from a weeks worth of driving hard.... About a litre over the full car. Almost no tar on the car at this stage but light Tardis anyway follow by...
My little helper clayed the rear glass whilst I did the bodywork, she's a star and for 8 her understanding and remembering of the little things boggles my mind, oh and never dropped any clay even though Citrus bling makes it super slidey! Bilthamber soft clay only taking off some light fallout, dirtiest part was her's from the rear glass.

Sticker leftovers but not much adhesive etc over the car except a bit on the roof, very very light.

HydroLite, the greatest drying aid every made... that's not a drying aid. Probably on the whole, my favourite eevr detailing product.

At this stage I just want to add... the hardest car I have ever dried ever in the entire history of cars! Honestly, without compressed air I would have just gone home. Not sure if any other detailers who have worked on one agrees, so many water holding dripping spots, even with the air I was losing my mind! Anyway compressed air with Devilbliss blower and twisted peach drying towel, my new favorite!

Because the paint was so heavy in fleck any light marring from clayign and drying was very difficult to capture. I must be doing something right with the washing, claying and drying! Anyway, Menz 106 and 3M yellow pad used as I was cleansing afterwards and time was tight, it's been a favourite combo of mine since early maching polishing and the menz is probably 18 years out of date but I enjoy going back to the good old days sometimes. It finishes down so well.

Cleansed with Werkstat Prime... probably my 2nd favourite product ever! Finishing touches with QDs etc.

Glass all sealed with 2 layers of G5 and 3 layers on the front screen. RS is a Sunday car so G1 felt overkill.

Seal feed on rubbers and C1 original on plastics and new private RS plates. The plastics would survive a nuclear blast. Another note at this point, I got up close with the front and rear "textured" areas on this car, it's like a new idea rather than the usual bobbled effect, almost hex style, big fan and super easy to coat, anyone who has seen one close up will know what I mean.

Now LSP.... I was in so many minds, especially at this time of the year but it's not really going to be out much so, I wanted a nice wax and I have no Vantage left so Blackfire Midnight sun 2 layers and a wipe down with diluted CarPro Reload, it really does keep things off the painwork much more than convential wax but I really wanted the car looking as glossy as it could, I reckon it was glossy but not as deep as maybe say a couple of coats of Vantage or BOS etc. Maybe in the summer!
