*NIX tgz files

Guys help me,

I'm installing PEAR components on my remotely hosted webserver. I don't have access to the shell and part of my PEAR components require me to install the PEAR::Log - the only download I can find is a tgz file.

Can I unzip this or something? Help?!

Gonna try WinZip

tar xzvf heh.tgz

It's the same as a tar.gz pretty much.. apart from .tgz is usually a package - I know Slackware uses them.

Bugger I'm stuck with PEAR and PEAR log. Anyone ever used/installed them?! lol.
