ive found the fuse that its blowing when i put them on but ive tried changing the rear stop/tail lamp and sidelight as thats what caused the problem last time but still nothing?

any ideas?

Probably a trapped cable behind the stereo, you had it out recently? This will take out the N/S sidelight and the dash illumination is on the same fuse.

When you moved your amp did you run cables down the nearside of the car to the boot ?

Make sure you haven't damaged the loom that runs down that side, thats where the supply to the rear light is.

Trapped under seatbelt mount perhaps ??

power cables N/S
phono leads centre
speaker wires O/S

only moved it from boot to back floor so didnt have to pull any of the wires etc but could still happen i suppose.

seatbelts wern't out so shouldnt be under the mount

ill check the loom that runs up the side of the car, cheers

any other suggestions?

The only other possibility that comes to mind, is the switch itself.

It has two contacts, one for left side, which includes the panel lights, and the other for the right side.

Didnt drill anything did you ? or use a self tapper ?

ok guys tried one of my other steering wheel light stalks/switches and same problem and i know that one works so its not that.

its a pioneer 5 channel amp, cant remember the power output but i think the sub channel is 150watts RMS (amp says 1000watts max power but i dont beleive in this max power crap)

cheap 12" pioneer sub, been running for months without a problem, BUT the sub was out when the backseats were out and this problem seems to be happening ever since the sub went back in?

but problem happens even when cd player/amp is off?

cheers

rear light appeared to be shorting out as if I unscrewed the little screw holding the rear light cluster in, not so it was loose but just not as tight as it was, it wouldn't blow the fuse, any tighter and it would start blowing fuses again!

a while back this lol
