Today car broke down, was giving it some stick round roundabout, lost drive, still have all gear's, clutch pedal still stiff, no grinding from shaft's, just wondered what you thought, clutch has not been previously slipping.......????

Quite likely a snapped cv joint get someone to look underneath at the shafts as you attempt to pull away see if the gear box hald is rotating.

I accept no responsibility if someone is stupid enough to put there head under you wheels while you try to pull away, and your car jumps forward and squishes them. So be sensible and look through the wheel spoke or something.

put it in gear, if the speedo goes up and there is no drive its the circlip that retains the diff in the box, can be found behind the n/s driveshaft welly.

Drain the box oil and check for one of these that will probably be loose in the N/S gaitor as said above...

;)

If you find the circlip loose, its sometimes possible to fit a new circlip (in situ) and hope for the best. Sometimes they will just keep popping out though, and the only thing that will fix it is a rebuild or new/replacement box.
