No fans working PLEASE help

My bloody fans have stopped working!! Before they would work on setting number 2 only. Then yesterday they stopped working all together. I have checked the switch and the wires and the pannel doeshave power coming into it, allthough only on two setting (and there is a third one that has power for the lights) Where is the fan and what can i do to get it sorted as im having to drive everywhere with my winodws open to stop the windows getting steamed up! The car is a 91 RT

Try the heater resistor and also check the wiring block into it, as these often melt.

Yeah but where are these? I have no idea about stuff on a vlio, im a vaux boy really only recently had a clio

I think its under the scuttle grille (bottom of windscreen).

Hav u checked ur coolant tank? Try filling it wiv sum antifreeze and water and that should do the trick! Also does ur temp gauge go right up even wen stationary in traffic?

Temp is fine, its just the fans that aint working, the heat is fine, the heaters work just not the fans!!

Or take it2 ur local garage and c wot they say?

Or do wot i did and get the rac or aa 2fix it!!! LOL!!!

Good idea about the RAC, could call them and say the fans have stopped working HELP i cant see.

The fan is behind the radiator!!!

Call RAC but go round a m8s and do it cos they wont travel2 ur home!

I dont know wot colour the wires r! But i know theyre 2 the left of the fan!

I have just fixed mine, it started with no 3 then 2 & 1 packed in, if you remove the jack then look to the right you will see a connector block this contains 3 resistors which regulate the voltage, making the fan slow, medium and fast. the wires are on slide on spade connectors, so the best thing to do would buy or take one from the wreckers (hoping it works) or contact renault. Then once you have got the new one swap the wires one at a time from the old one to the new one ensuring not to get any mixed up. This is the problem they normally work on/off for a while then stop altogeather. if you need any help with it just ask.

Sorry forgot to mention the jack is under the bonnet in front of the drivers side, below the grille (same place as wiper motor) this is where the fan for the heaters is, honestly it is very very easy, took me about an hour at the most and how had to find out how to remove the connector block but it just unclips.

YEP THAT WILL SORT IT, IF YOU TAKE THE JACK OUT YOU CAN SEE THE BLOCK, LOOKS LIKE 3 COILS OF WIRE.
