No Performance over 5000k RPM

Hi,

since friday afternoon my clio rs has no performace over 5000k RPM.
It feels like a 2l 100 bhp Car. What's wrong with it? I think the camshaft
isn't adjusting between the two stages.

I'd have it hooked upto a fault code reader, should give you a good idea what the problem is.

My guess would be dodgy coilpack and maybe not always running on all 4 cylinders

Cams adjusting between phases doesnt happen at 5k - happens about 1800

although the VVT doesnt adjust at 5,000rpm, if it isnt adjusting at all (even at 1800) then its going to run out of steam high up the revs (ie over 5k) so id be looking at the dephaser

If you think it is that Id say it is more likely tro be the VVT Soldnoid stuck than the dephaser being stuck.
