Noise on high speed/load rights

  E46 M3
Noticed a noise at Bedford on monday. At first I thought it was the tyres rubbing but theres no evidence of this. After a few sessions I found grease on the inside of the front leftwheel, the cv boot clip had come off.

I repacked it with grease and reattched the boot but the noise was still there.

On the road normal driving there is no noise, even at full lock either way. Is it definatly the CV joint making the noise?

If it is the CV what are my options? There are a couple of driveshafts on ebay but I obviously have no idea of condition before I buy. I understand the CV joint is not avaiable seperatly.

Also the gearbox oil is a week old, if I drop it into a clean container can I put it back in?

Yes iv re-used box oil with no problems.

Id say its the joint mate, i can think of anything else if the boot has slipped off
