Ive got a humming noise coming from my back wheels. Had the noise before it was rear bearings, but it was only a year since i changed them!! Is it anything else it could be? I have just put apex springs onit. is there a right and wrong way up they go on the back as they look the same each end.

cheers

did you change both sides? sounds like you did, but just thought i'd mention as it's nigh on impossible sometimes to tell which side is noisy. unless you get out and spin the wheels individually

Common problem, so not too suprising its worn. Not sure how to check it without replacing it. On mine, it was as noisy as anything but felt fine turning the wheel by hand with the car jacked up. I could only tell it was worn by taking the hub off and turning the bearing by hand - it then felt a little notchy to turn compared to the other one. Replacing it made all the difference.

I did it DIY I used a vice with a 1m steel pipe on the handle to get enough pressure and then it was still a pig to do. Lots of sweat. It needs about 10 tonnes of pressure to get it in. Unless you have a tough vice, a really tough steel pipe and you are really strong dont even attempt it. Just ask a garage to press it in for you they wont charge much and you can do the rest yourself

bearings are really cheap about 25 each so if you can diy mate shoudl not cost you alot i have not had this bearing problem yet touch wood!!!

Seems to be a bit frequent, i only changed my rear bearings at 45k...and that was only because the discs were fecked. Are you running big wheels or mad camber?
