Noisy Relays

Is there anyway to just get rid of the "CLICK-CLICK-CLICK" when my wipers are on intermittant for instance. It bugs the hell outta me.

Aye, annoys the hell outta me when sat in light rain.

Its the same with the windows.

No other car Ive owned has done it.

youd need to replace each relay with a transistor/fet based circuit, which is going to be an amount of effort and warrantly invalidating, alternatively turn your stereo up!

just do it manually......... thats what i do

or put them on all the time (if its raining enough) - at least they dont judder or scrape (or mine dont anyway)

that winds me up as well... almost as much as the artificial did-dod-did-dod noise that the indicators make! arrrggghh!

I think the noisy relays are the worst thing about the Clio! I hate to sound petty but its a right PITA having a constant "click, click" when the wipers are on rain sensing mode, or u lower the windows for example.

I dont always drive with the CD player on and dont wish to either

Oh well, I guess if thats the only thing I dont like bout my car I should count myself lucky!!

The indicator sound is the most non-annoying thing Ive ever heard! Every other car Ive driven its been about 100dB TICK-TOCKing.

Agreed, the indicators are alwight.. but your right the relays for the wipers are mega fooking loud.. lol

They need fine tuning with a hammer they do !

You could make up a panel and sound proof the area the relays are exposed to the cabin hence = noise.

Did no-one at Renault ever think "these are a bit loud, lets tuck them somewhere out of the way, under the bonnet maybe?"...
