Noisy wiper mechanism

I think it's the spring but it squeaks on every wipe. Is there anything I can put on it to try and stop it? I've tried WD40 which worked for about 10 minutes then covered my car when I set off.

What about the stuff that's used on bike chains? Can't think of the name of it right now but might not come off when you drive

That's the one, though I thought there was a fancy name for it (I've been in work since 5am, and brain has just about shut down )

Yeah, I use that on the mx bikes.
Is VERY greasy though.
