Nokia Smartphone Apps

My N8 is arriving tomorrow

Never having owned a smartphone, and Im not entire sure what apps are worth getting.

Being a Nokia, do they all have to come from the "Ovi Store" or is there another place i can get them from?

theres symbian forums out there that can supply apps, depends how the fones locked, to which apps can be installed. Most apps have to be signed.

Only apps ive used it a standard calc, remind me (makes fone beep or vibrate if uve missed a call), quick office, parlingo / msn

theres a app called racechrono which is like a datalogger thing. it draws where your driving and lets you open it in google earth to show speeds etc i miss it not being on android
