Right, is there a known design issue with these??

I have previously bought three in my car's life time. It broke a couple of weeks after I bought the car, Renault said this wasn't covered under the warranty. . . It then broke again about two years back, then again around three months ago, and it has just broken again!!!

I will be ringing Renault later, popping in with the receipt and demanding a new one, but can anyone give me any ammunition with "known issues/recalls providing free replacements"??

when you put the car in reverse, the lever reach is too much for the gaitor. It pulls it too tight, snapping the rear clip in the progress.

The sport ones are only a fiver...

Seriously? So I have been charged 17 quid a time for the last three occasions? I swear Renault are con artists.

yeah, I bought one a few months back... was £5.50 for the RS item.

prices vary from dealer to dealer though, I got quoted £37 ex vat in one.

They ARE ALL THE SAME

But Renault/Dealers seem to have a price change every so often.

Back in the day i got mine for £4.70

Then they stupidly went up to about £17 as you got yours for.

As what Fubar said i think they are back down to the £5 quid mark or so. They are all the same part however, no diff in material/fitting be it a 1.2 or 182.

I am still going to have a little word with them. A fiver is not the end of the world to keep the car looking OK wear and tear wise, but it is the principal of spending more money on an item that has been replaced a number of times already!!
