Northwest/Yorkshire RS Tuning RR Meet 4th Dec 2010 - Pictures and Results

Thought I would start this thread so everyone who wants to post their power graphs and photos can put them all in here.

I'll start, fair to say I wasnt happy with the results, although Paul is going to run some tests on Monday to find the source of the power loss. Hoping its a boost leak or spark faulty plug... :S

CAR: Golf GTI - Standard
BHP: 176
Torque: 208 foot pounds :)

Was a good day although very bloody cold. C4 was down a bit on power compared to last time...which I was kind of expecting now it has the big brakes on it. Also needing a service so filters are probably clogged up a bit, so can't really complain at an 8hp loss.

What did the C4 make in the end Wozzaa? I missed it...

Even tho the figures are bad as they normally at at RR days at least it gives u something to go it and/or fix any problems :D

Yeah fingers crossed mate, he said they make over 200bhp standard all day long so...

Good results for your 172, compared to the 197 which was making roughly the same Iirc

Yeah I was surprised about the 197.

It will be a big bonus for you when Paul sorts it if your used to driving it with 176bhp

Ali's cup and steve's cup were the best of the day imo, so lesson is to buy a cup maybe :S

Are the videos that were took getting uploaded onto here?

Found out that I had a leaking injector but still managed to make 73.9bhp with 134ft/lb's torque at the flywheel.

Modifications
- Custom intercooler
- Cat and Backbox removed (full stainless pipe fitted)
- K&N Cone Filter

Mine was the first 197 that ran, 176.4BHP at the fly, 145.9BHP at the wheels. Car drives really well, nothing untoward about the curve, running Sainsburys 97, FSH, serviced about 7k ago. Only thing is, it has done 85k but has full RSH. The car drives really well, so other than the number, I have little to complain or worry about.

Having said that... I have an APD ported inlet manifold to fit, and will get the car serviced, along with new plugs, before it's next run, when if poss it will be running 99RON fuel.

Of the 4 197/200's that ran, I think they made;

200 - 191
200 - 182
197 - 181
197 - 176

I think all were pretty much standard, mine has an ITG panel, the 191 car had a KTec panel and no airbox lid.

Good post mate, end of the day it's only a number and it's the drivers experience which counts in the end :)

On a side note, loved your albi 197 mate, would be my choice of colour for the mk3

Strange results considering the performance it gives but Paul did say there was quite a bit of tweaking possible to it so I'll have to see what he can do with it. I have found that it was blowing in 2 places so when I go next I should have a new exhaust which might help a little. As Flash says above I guess as long as your happy with it on the road then that should do.

The Videos and a few pics where taken by the 2 lads in the Blue megane (sound lads too but didn't get their names) so they might post here at some point

Bit poor as I only had my BB.

Cheers for the comment on the colour, looks great outdoors, but a bit washed out in artificial light.

I only got a couple of pics as my fingers were that cold I couldn't work my phone

Pretty happy with my readout with the car only having 4K on the clock. Will post up my graphs when I get home, they're still in the car...

I plan on having mine RR'd at regular intervals to help chart it's power as the engine loosens up.

Was a great day all in all, big thankyou to all that made the effort to battle through the elements and save me from the embarrassment of being stood at Paul's alone ;)

Quiet happy with the Abarth figures but I still have a closed induction kit to put on and a few bits and bobs

Power : 163.4bhp
Torque : 198ftlb

Peek torque @ 2750rpm and I will post graph later

  R26
Lol at your face lynden when the first run made 154 or whatever bhp :D

Mine made 179 bhp but there is something up with my engine. It's going in next week :)

Am I right in thinking I saw a 182 make 140 or something bhp?

Very happy with my 200 with 6500 miles on the clock. 191 bhp, 159 at the wheels and 155ft/lb's. Not bad with just a filter id say. not far off quoted figures. As Daz said, think im gonna roll mine again soon and keep an eye on increases as she beds in properly. Im very tempted to go bk to RS Tuning very soon and get the remap and maybe a decat for it that fits with the standard system. Overall, was a very good day and a decent turn out, shame i payed 6 quid for 2 rubber bacons and a coffee. Stood there watching Specky struggle with his chicken selects made me wanna bite his hand off. NIce one for the organised meet Daz, 2 tums fresh

Your results were the ones I was most impressed with mate, 191bhp is spot on, I'd be well chuffed with a non-run in Renault lol :)

Pauls RR is so consistent, it makes it brilliant for comparison and development work.

For reference here is Dean's (Pres) cars current performance:

And this is what it should be doing: (another customers 182).

Linear torque of 150 across the board, peaking at 190.

Was nice to meet people :) didnt stay for long, was slightly hung over and way too cold!!

My 182 with a K&N panel filter made 167.4bhp. Not sure if thats bad, or average? Needs a lamba sensor at the mo, and in desperate need of exhaust hangers.

I was surprised mine made what it did on Paul's rollers but happy none the less. I was also surprised that he remembered it'd been on before and the issue with it last time so it felt good to report that the cam timing is now sorted.

Anyway heres my run, only niggle being that the front lambda has malfunctioned causing it to run rich, of which I had no idea, kind of put it down to the weather etc. Swapped the lambdas round this morning so hopefully I'll find out on Tuesday if it's sorted it when it goes back on the college rollers.

I wanna see the vid that the BBC reporter esque Megane owner has recorded, from what I can tell he seemed to get some good footage.
