NOS question? dry system tests

  182 inside
Hi all.

Has anyone got a dry 50hp nos system running on a 172/182. Reason I ask is that i have been given a 50hp dry nos system.

any advise or suggestions?

I know how to fit it etc just wondering if it will be okay?
don't want to kill the engine

i know someone who ran it on a 1.1 saxo (yes 50hp) lmao.so long as you dont have it on constantly i would say itd be fine, although i dunno about dry systems being good for your engine...

Matt Black maybe someone good to talk to. The Clio TT used to have a 172 Cup engine running NOS. He decided it wasn't quick enough and went for the TT upgrade.

I don't remember his setup though, not sure if it was wet or dry. Might be an idea to ask him. :)

You can fit the system with a 50bhp jet but run it with a progressive controller. Personally from my experience ( blown 1 clio V6 and 3 172 engines ) i would run a piggy back ecu when using the gas. The problem with just bolting it onto a standard engine is fueling. To put it simply if you dont get enough fuel into the engine when you inject gas, you will end up cracking the rings on a 172 engine. I would fit bigger injectors and run a piggy back ECU which fuels the system more efficeintly to prevent any detonation. The alternative is fit steel rods and forged pistons and then you can run up to a 150 bhp jet - problem then is the gearbox coping with the extra torque

thanks for all the comments. I think i'm going to leave the car na. I might get the turbo conversion done or buy a faster car next year.
