Not sure what to do *sigh*

Its come to the stage where i am wondering whether or not to sell the williams. It has always been good to me and nothing major has been going wrong but recently just a few things need doing and they keep coming one after the other, master-cylinder, alternator, and a new vibration noise coming from the rear (think its something to do with the wheel bearings, and me being me i need everything right) and tbh with it being quite old i fancy something a little newer and cheaper to run as the commute to work is 30mile round trip.

Its quite diff as i bought it for 4k 2years ago as the 5th owner with not alot of service history but i have never had any problems with it and after i have spent so much (must be 2k'ish) getting it mint (alloy refurb, arches, no plate, loads of maintenance, 4pots etc) i just cannot decide whether or not to sell it as i will prob only get 3300ish for it as a max, and for that kind of money im not going to get a car anywhere near as good as a williams in as good a nick and well looked after as mine.

The plan was to keep it for two years and buy a clio trophy but im feeling a little, dare i say it bored and with the new house i dont have alot of spare to cash to mod it to the extent i want to, to keep it feeling new and fresh.

Ive thought about just selling it and saving up for a little while and see what takes my fancy, which currently would be a 106gti but i cant stop seeing that as a step down

dont sell it because in the end you will regret it and it sounds like you have looked after it, why dont you just get a run around and keep the clio? i would be gutted if anything happened to mine and even if i did sell it not that i would i know another 1 would never be the same :)

Being v polite about i would say the ph-quicks are not for me.

yeh i have looked after it, i dont even drive it from cold i let it run for a few mins before driving it  . i know what you mean about another one not being the same it would be wierd to sell it (why am i so attahced to this car).

i have considered a run around but im not actually going to save much apart from poss maintenance work due to reduced mileage, but offset that against dual insurance, tax, mot and actually buying a second car and its not a winner.

i do love the williams and i have never really been able to see the end to owning mine other than writing it off, maybe i should just sort these couple of jobs and leave it as its always been reliable.

i would keep the Willy for now mate.

you won't lose much more on it now, and someone will get a pampered one if you tidy up those few bits that you showed me. when you have your finances sorted an you're ready to sell for a Trophy, at least you'll know it's what you wanted to swap for.

it prob wont lose much more like you say and apart from the boot (which i do have another one) exterior wise its mint.

Its funny i used to **** off people who would spend a mint on their cars, get them looking good and then sell them, what a waste of money i used to preach :S

Maybe keep saving for a trophy is the way foward.
