Not your usual tapping

  182
Hi

Have recently noticed a tapping sort of hollow clunking noise coming from the lower inlet manifold on the 3rd port along from the flywheel end and its still there faintly throughout the rev range. I got hold of some shell helix oil for a good price its been in around a month now.

Obviously its not the best oil going and far from the worse, but would it cause an increase in noise?

Tonight i have had the inlet manifold off and checked all the plugs are still tight which they are and all the leads are in place

Last September i had a fair bit of work done on the 182 so the usual culprits are counted out!

Timing belt kit
Aux belt kit
Dephaser
Cam seals
Crank pulley bolt
oil and filter (fuchs pro S)
Clutch
Gearbox oil (motul)
NGK plugs
HT leads
Coilpack
Coolant change
Thermostat
Polybushed lower gearbox mount

^^^Thats what i can remember off the top of my head, the car is also remapped using the RStuner Ron98 map and always run on Shell v-power...and the oil and filter are changed every 6k.

I am half thinking it may be an injector? can the flow of these be checked via the RStuner?

I have no stored or pending fault codes nor any lights on the dash...

The car drives fine as it always has!!

And its not the Carbon cannister

Any ideas?
