On Monday me and the G/F set off on our third trip to the Nurburgring and took my stage 4 Fiesta ST and the Saxo VTS track car ( see below for Saxo build )

After a quick ferry trip we were in France and then did the normal trip of France in to Belgium then in to Germany .
I did not take any pictures or vids of this as most of it was boring but I did have a little go on the autobahn as it was a de restricted part and was clear and hit 152 MPH in the Fiesta ST and the G/F got 130 MPH out of the SAXO VTS .
After a long trip we arrived at the Hotel and checked in to room 12 that had a great view of the track .

I did want to have a quick lap on the Monday but after a full day of driving we went for a drink instead and watched some of the action until it was closed after a crash .

Now on to our first lap and after corner two the sound of a gearbox disaster was whining loud in the car and throughout my car history I have had a few gearbox go on me and this was the unmistakable sound of a very unhappy gearbox .
Knowing how much it costs to be recovered from the ring and any costs of the ring being closed well in to the 800 Euro mark I through causation to the wind and carried on the lap trying to nor rev the car past 4000 K if I could help it .
The little car was amazing in the corners and even not reving the engine managed to have some fun and pass a few cars .
After I did two laps and the G/F one we went to Pinochio for some dinner
I went for one of the pizza and did my best . ( anyone who has been here will know how big they are )

Wednesday was more of the same and again I did two laps and the G/F one but by now the gearbox was sounding like it was going to go and the car would not go in to second any more without a fight and crunching and the power steering started to play up .
On to our last day and it was raining all day but I did find another UK Fiesta ST

After raining all day I thought they would close the track but it was open so I did just one more lap in the pouring rain as I was really pushing my luck with the gearbox and tyres .
It was fun with very little grip and there were only 10 other cars that were on track ( I’m thinking other people are not that stupid to go out in the conditions )
Then we packed up and set off for the UK at 4.30 AM and with the SAXO really on its last legs we made very slow progress at about 60 MPH the whole way back but it did give me chance to see what MPG the Fiesta can do .

And that was about it great fun as ever and even with a sick car it was still a great trip and can’t wait for next year .
One last pic that made me smile .
