Nvidia GeForce GT 540M upgrade?

Is there a possible upgrade for the Nvidia GeForce GT 540M chip? Its for my laptop and the current graphics seems to have a melt down every so often.

Its a Samsung RF711 SOC7

I doubt you can replace it, generally most laptops are on-die.

Nothing in the specs on Samsung's website that mention it being removable. Looks like you'll need a gaming laptop if you want to game.

If you want something extremely modular, go for a desktop, there's plenty of "small" solutions now-a-days, though obviously it still won't be as portable as a laptop.

Look like im looking for a new laptop then, I have killed the chip/monitor on this 3 times already, the screen keeps flickering some times ok some its like a strobe light.
I have had to switch off graphics from the chip to the intel graphics on the board, turned the screen res down aswell. Cant adjust the refresh rate either.

Probably clogged up with dust & it can't dissipate the heat properly!

Its cleaned out on a regular basis and sits on a fan pad with 1" clearance from the desk top.

Yea its still under warranty, I might have to kill it properly and ask for a better one at little extra cost.

Its been repaired 3 times already from Samsung through the PCW agreement.

You said it's been repaired by Samsung, I would say it was done incorrectly so they should replace it. Typical Samsung to be honest, soon as something goes wrong their not interested.
