o/s driveshaft 172 help

replacing my o/s driveshaft today, got to the point of removing old shaft, doesnt seem to wanna budge.

Should it just pull out of gearbox?is there any clips/brackets holding in place that need loosening/removing?

you taken the retaining plate off the centre bracket? (2 x 13mm bolts)

is that the bracket bout half way down shaft? not undone these, assume i need to?!
