Occasional problems starting

  Clio 172 ph1
Hi

I have had my 172 ph1 for about 9 months now and have had no problems with it in this time. The only thing that is a bit strange is twice it has struggled to start. Both times it has been after about a 2 mile trip to the gym, where it struggles to start when ive gotton in it to come home. The engine turns over but the last time I did think it wasnt going to start. Its ALWAYS started in the mornings and when I come home from work so does anyone have ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks

Andy

maybe somethin is draining the battery on standstill. any short circuits or extra audio equipment like subs and amps etc can drain the batt

I had starting problems on a 182 and looked into it quite deep

TDC sensor, tucked under the airbox, remove and give the contact a clean with wd40
Battery can cause no end of problems so get that checked

Mine turned out to be a sticky solenoid, few taps and it frees it up, obviously this isnt your problem as it tries to start
