OEM Software

  Skoda Fabia Vrs 180b
Whats the main differences between this and the full product? Looking at the system below with Vista untimate but it is OEM software.

That system is only £1000 inc delivery from www.chrystech.co.uk

So is it worth getting ultimate as an OEM or should I get the retail version?

With a new PC, my advice is get OEM.

The main difference is you get a box and a "kind of" manual.
Also, OEM is tied to that individual machine, so if you change the PC, you can't take OEM software with it.

Retail is massivly more expensive too.

As above, i think vista is even more tied in the fact you change some major hardware it knows and you either have to convince MS of a genuine change or buy new.

I think the OEM was about £100 or so cheaper than retail, could be a pain not been able to change hardware in the future but guess I will have to cross that bridge when i get to it.

Guess whith a quad core, 4gb of ram and a 620mb 8800 graphics card i wont need to update for a few years!
