off the rails

the electric sunroof on my brothers mk2 phase 2 has come off the rails on one side and wont close properly. it will only close at one side.

Even when you force it on the rails again it just pops out again. it appears that the slider to the rear of the sunroof is jammed, wont budge.

Has anyone had this probly before? or know how to fix it? as irish weather isn't very predictable.

can no one help?

i took out the glass to have a proper look.

Everything on the drivers side works fine.

But on passengers side the rear slider wont move at all, its supposed to go up and down.
And the front runner on the passenger side isn't working right. its supposed to work in 2 stages. 1)bracket moves up; then 2) bracket slides backwards. but it doesn't move up at all, just slides back. so as the drivers side moves up, the passengers side is already sliding back, putting the sunroof off square.
