Ok what exactly is this

i have ET40 wheels on my 2000 1.2

but is it correct?

what happens if it is wrong?

I think the higher the number the further into the car the wheels are, lower the number the further they stick out

fred is right of course...

my mk2 facelift clio came with 15" et43.5 rims...they were horrid...way too far in in the wheelwell...

have since changed to 16" et38...much much better...
