Oil any good

I bought some 10/40 oil. I think its comma, but not sure a its at home. The oil is dark ish (looks like used oil), not clear like other new oils. Its a brand new bottle, will it be ok to use in my Williams? Its semi synthetic. My mate said it might be reconstituted oil or something and would be ok? Any ideas?

Put it in and find out.

Should be ok.

My GTX Magnetec that comes out after every 3K looks dark ish but still reletively new and I know would be ok for longer.....

Should be ok, if its brand new 10W/40, although if youre in any doubt of the quality Id probably just get some different oil to be on the safe side

Should be ok if youve just dipped below maximum, its dipping below minimum that youve gotta worry about!

When you get it serviced (if it gets serviced) the oil will be changed then (or should be).

Mums Scienic went in for a service and they didnt change the oil, make her go and compalin, they tried fobbing her off by telling her the sensor was faulty, so i checked and had they f**k, was right down low and as black as anything

Lunner, all cars burn their lubrication oil (from new, even if it is a tiny unnoticable amount). This can vary from car to car as the tolerances between the piston ring and bore vary, but as cars get old and the rings get a bit worn it is likely that you may have to top up your oil between services

You should therefore check your oil levels regularly and top up if necessary, particularly if you drive your car hard

id ring Comma mate and ask them what colour its supposed to be, oils can vary in colour by quite a lot, Silkolene Pro R for example is red !
