oil filter relocation, scavenge pump

nybody relocated their oil filter on a 172? considering doing this for convenience and to make it easier to fit TBs. Also, the adaptor can carry an oil temp/pressure sensor to feed info to a new gauge on cockpit. badly missing on 172s.

While were on the subject, anybody fit a scavenge pump, baffled sump or equivalent on a 172?

no you dont have to, unless your panning on pointing them at the floor.

As for baffling the sum and/or dry sumping.......are you getting any surge problems?

If not, dont bother. cant see a point.

i want to add an oil pressure/temp sensor and move the filter. asking if somebodys done it. I guess not.

For TBs, access to the oil filter requires removal of the front bumper. i already change oil regularly and will be doing so more often
