???? OIL LEVELS

hey people seem to be using a lot of oil these days on my 54 plate 182 also notice oil on the rings of the exaust pipes


anyone got ideas whats up

^^^^^^^ just had 60k serivce and 2 grand spent fixing the car exhaust is fucked thou rattling and sounding horrible engine seems fine thou purs as normal ?

How much oil is alot of oil then? how hards it driven?

well about a litre every 3 months ? dont drive it hard , well not really never redline it anyway

how many miles, Thats nothing really unless you are doing 1k in that time

Anything up to a litre every thousand miles is within Renault's specifications. My 172 used a little bit every now and again.

standard exhuasts are all sh1te. Never get a new renault one. My 172 never, ever, ever used a drop of oil, but as said they can use a bit without issues.

Still alot that though isn't it? Mine tends to use oil on long 100+ mile trips on motorways and when the car's driven hard, other than that it has reasonable oil consumption.

I would check if there is not oil in the pluhs holes, sometimes cam cover stops sealing and the plug holes are filled with oil wich can be sucked into the engine, a mates car was doing this, he noticed when flooring it, we could see all the smoke behind. This would require new cam kit as it has to come off to reseal the cover, this is if your engine seems ok, no strange noices or what so ever, other wise engine may have something broken inside

engine seems fine everything seems fine just noticed since the exhaust has started to rattle its black on the tail pipes and using this amount of oil .

do a lot of motoways miles now about a 1000 every month too

Mine's done 2k since last oil change.

It has the usual weepy sump and get's a hammering everyday and is running ITB's and hasnt used a drop in 2k
