oil pre guage

hi i have had my 16v for about 2 weeks now,can anyone tell me what the oil pressure guauge should read?

depends how hard ure hammering it! always let it get to about 80 b4 caining though

not the oil temp the 1 next to it its 0-6 bar,what should it be reading? any info helps alot cheers!!

mine usually reads 3 when drinving around up to temp but can drop to 1.5 when at the lights.

Also depends on what viscosty oil you use.

Oil viscoscity makes a lot of difference. When I first got my 16v, I used 5w/50 oil - that made the oil pressure settle at about 1.5 bar at idle and made the oil temperature much higher than normal (settled at about 120degC). Now, in my enlightened state, I use 10w/40 - the pressure at idle is about 0.5 bar and the temperature on a long journey now settles at about 100degC. Much better!

Renault recommend oil viscoscities for a good reason!
